Camp Fitch – Winter Retreat 2010

Once again, we had the opportunity to ‘get away’ for a couple of days to Camp Fitch for our annual winter retreat.  We had a great time cross-country skiing, shooting, sledding, snow-ball fighting, and making ridiculously-shaped candles!  We also sat under some amazing teaching from our guest, Joe Rubino.  We learned a lot about how we identify ourselves, and how Christ identifies us. Check out the pictures on the ‘photos’ page!

This year’s Acquire The Fire was all about Love!  And we loved it!  It was a fun weekend spent laughing with our friends, wandering the streets of Cleveland (somehow we always ended up at Starbucks…), and staying up all night.  It was also a weekend to experience God’s presence, and be reminded of His love for us and amazing things He has in store for us.  A big thank you to all of the people who donated their time and money to help make this event possible; it was a good investment!

BRINC

BrincBrinc started a last summer as an opportunity for the students to stay connected with each other and serve their community during their summer break.  This past summer BRINC spent a lot of time focused on sharing our faith in a real way in our everyday lives.  On several of the Wednesday evenings we went to Rec Park in Painesville and used the time to build friendships with the people at the park. We did this through face painting, balloon animals, playing some pick-up basketball, and skateboarding.  Many of the students were able to have good conversations with their new friends.  The other evenings were spent in evangelism training, as well as a time of personal reflection and worship. The students also enjoyed just spending time with one another!

We kicked our summer off with the first ever youth rally held in the Painesville Square. The rally involved at least 9 different churches and had between 250-500 people  throughout the day. Bands, comedy, dance, and drama were all part of the show.
